Environmental
education is an important component of the work of the WESCZ.
The
Society's aim is to create a strong lobbying and consultative
presence that will make meaningful progress in achieving
sensible and sustainable environmental policies.
The Society has
an active and extensive education programme utilising both print
and electronic media. This involves the production and
distribution of six issues of the
Chongololo Magazine each year.
In addition to
this is the broadcast of a weekly environmental programme,
Chongololo Club of the Air, at 12.45hrs on ZNBC Radio 2.
Finally, there
is the publication of a weekly environmental commentary,
Environmental Notes by Wart Hog, in the Sunday Times and the
organisation of seminars for environmental educators from
schools and other relevant organisations.
